  Mercat de Música Viva de Vic

  Every September, the beautiful central Catalan town of Vic hosts an extensive 'market of live music', which this year celebrates its 36th anniversary, aimed at giving both professionals and the public the chance to hear a wide range of different genres and discover new acts, as they enjoy of concerts and related activities. A lot of the focus is on artists from Catalonia, Spain and the Mediterranean area, but musicians from other places can also be found on the programme.
  
  Performances, some of which are free, are given across the city at venues both indoors and out, including the emblematic Plaça Major, and throughout the event the streets are filled with buskers, adding to the musical extravaganza taking place. While there, it's also worth taking the time to explore Vic, a place rich with history, from the Roman temple to the cathedral, ecclesiastical museum, and medieval and modernista buildings. And don't forget to try the local gastronomic speciality, cured meats.

  Grec Festival de Barcelona

  The Grec, Barcelona's keenly anticipated annual festival of music, dance, circus and theater is about to begin. It is a festival that now forms part of the city's cultural landscape and connects fully with its artistic life. This year more than ever the Teatre Grec, which gives its name to the festival, is at the epicenter, but you will be able to see related events at a multitude of venues across Barcelona.
  
  This year's Grec de Barcelona Festival is a celebration of local talent, with artists it has helped to grow and who now represent Barcelona around the world. At the same time, it pays tribute to world masters of the performing arts.

  Banc Sabadell Vijazz Penedès

  Wine and jazz go hand-in-hand at the festival that sublimates both pleasures by pairing wine-tastings with concerts in Vilafranca, the heart of the Penedès region. ViJazz Penedès, which has been going for more than 10 years, features free concerts and the chance to sample more than 300 wines and cavas produced by forty of the Penedès region's best wineries at the wine and cava fair. This year also includes a gastronomic area, with the presence of restaurants in the area, where quality tapas will be offered specifically designed to be accompanied by wines and cavas from the Penedès.

  The CanetRock festival reaches a new edition in 2023, consolidating its commitment to the best of rock and to Catalan pop groups. This time round the acts include Oques Grasses, 31 Fam, The Tyets, Julieta, Els Catarres, and much more. In addition to the twelve hours of non-stop music, the audience can enjoy parallel activities in the incomparable setting of Canet de Mar beach.

  Festival Jardins de Terramar

  Thanks to its Jardins Terramar Music Festival, Sitges has one more attraction helping to make it a first-rate tourist destination. This festival has established itself as a uniquely recreational, cultural, gastronomic and sensory experience. This festival, held in the Terramar Gardens, has been prepared taking into account the gardens' own biosphere and is based on sustainability. The festival will welcome renowned artists such as Ana Mena, Sopa de Cabra, Camela and Antònia Font. The festival also features different cuisines, a whole raft of recreational and cultural activities and a space specifically designed for showcasing local talent in music, theater, dance and painting.

  44 International Jazz Festival of Terrassa

  The 44th edition of the Terrassa Jazz Festival will take place at various venues of Terrassa and the region of Vallès Occidental. Different activities, the majority concerts, and artists, both from today's national and international scene, will take over Nova Jazz Cava, and also squares, parks, patios, terraces and different administration buildings. The Festival covers movies, dance, swing, competitions, workshops, exhibitions and gastronomic routes, for jazz music to once again take the leading role.

  Gran Teatre del Liceu Season 20232024

  The Gran Teatre del Liceu is one of Barcelona's iconic venues and among the world's most spectacular opera houses. It begins the new season with an ambitious series of performances. The season will feature major works such as Turandot, Carmen, Un ballo in maschera and Fidelio. The theatre will also be hosting dance performances featuring A Midsummer Night's Dream performed by the Ballet Dortmund and The Swan Lake performed by Ballet del Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
  
  There will also be concert performances of works by Mendelssohn, Schubert and Monteverdi. And, finally, families will be able to enjoy the season for kids, the Petit Liceu, which will feature different shows, including La Barcarola and Rossini's Kitchen.

  This may essentially be a festival based on only one instrument, but the sounds, performers and styles on the programme could scarcely be more wide-ranging. The skill of the organisers, leading Spanish music promoters The Project, in bringing together Catalan, Spanish, European and international performers from a variety of musical genres is quite something. Flamenco to pop, classic Cuban to contemporary Catalan, acoustic and electric, emerging and veteran acts – all this and more fills the many city venues that take part in Guitar BCN.
