Bagués-Masriera is synonymous with culture, art and history and, at the same time, uniqueness, ground-breaking design and innovation with future potential in the sphere of top-end international jewellery. Their pieces represent the reinvention of top-of-the-range jewellery. It is the contemporary piece. Their motifs are inspired by their Barcelona origins as well as the cultural heritage of the land washed by the Mediterranean: light, geometrical elements from architecture, the colourful sparkle of the artistic avant-garde, the craft tradition, iconographic details from nature… Bagués-Masriera’s Barcelona workshop is one of the few remaining ones in the world that continue to master the technique of translucent enamelling and hand-crafted fired enamels, and proof of this is the fact that it has applied both techniques to its pieces without a break for over 200 years. Pieces by the modernista gold and silversmith Lluís Masriera have been chosen to form part of the exhibition Barcelona and Modernity, an exhibition of some of the most important works by Picasso, Gaudí, Miró and Dalí, and represent a major world artistic event with over 350 works on show in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. Bagués-Masriera’s leadership of the haute-jewellery sector, and its clear international calling, has led the company to extend its network of distributors around the world in order to guarantee that its pieces will reach the five continents from Barcelona, particularly the most demanding and competitive markets of Japan, the USA and South-East Asia. Bagués-Masriera’s latest commitment is to Russia, where its pieces are highly prized. In Barcelona, Bagués-Masriera will soon be opening the Hotel Bagués which, under the concept of a hotel-jewel, will house the Masriera Museum. The synergy between the company’s two brands is once more the key to a process of innovation with future potential.
