Through a selection of more than 200 works, the fantastic floating world of ukiyo-e comes to Palau Martorell, offering a journey through the elegant and refined atmosphere of Japan. The exhibition presents the most prestigious Japanese artists of the 19th century and a complete panorama of Japanese life with samurai armour, kimonos, objects and photographs. The tour, divided into seven sections, explores the feminine world of the geisha, the legend of the samurai warriors, portraits of actors and scenes from the nō and kabuki theatre, and idealised nature in paintings of flowers, birds and landscapes.
