Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona

The Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona (AFB) was created to preserve, process, record and disseminate the city's photographic heritage. Its holdings include over three million photographs from 1844 to the present day.

Professional and amateur photographers, publishers, Barcelona celebrities, institutions, families, members of the public and the city council itself have all contributed to the archives over the years.

You'll find the AFB on the second floor of the old Sant Agustí Convent, where there is a reference room, workrooms, laboratories, seven repositories designed for the safekeeping of the photographs, and an exhibition room where they are periodically put on show.
