From August to October 2024, Port Vell and along the beach to Port Olympic will be the scene of a very exciting competition. The America's Cup is famous because there is only one winner and no second place is awarded. It is the oldest international trophy, dating back to 1851. For many years the trophy has been won by the New York Yacht Club of the United States but since 1983 countries such as Australia, Switzerland and New Zealand have won it, with the current champion being the Emirates Team New Zealand. Barcelona's Port Vell will have large areas and viewing platforms for the public. After various preliminary regattas, the America's Cup Match will begin on October 12, 2024.

They are Abril Marfà, a promising eleven-year-old who is not afraid of challenges; Natalia Via-Dufresne, a sailor with a long history of victories; Nora García, a world champion in Nacra 15 who dreams of an Olympic title Maria Torrijo, the first woman in the world to hold the titles of judge, referee and international regatta official; Andrea Emone, sailor and aerospace engineer with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing Team; and Ana Pujol, a multiple champion in skate sailing regattas. The exhibition will include activities designed to introduce children to the world of sailing.
