One of the most spectacular and authentic Catalan traditions is undoubtedly that of the gegants (giants). This 2024 marks the 600th anniversary of this tradition, and for the occasion, about 200 groups of gegants from all over Catalonia will come together for a grand gathering in Barcelona. With parades, ceremonial dances and a final collective dance, this party organized by Agrupació de Colles Geganteres de Catalunya and Coordinadora de Colles Geganteres de Barcelona will be one of the largest gatherings ever organized.
