The Museu Tàpies presents the exhibition Opacities. Veiling transparency, by the artist Anna Malagrida. The starting point for the show is the dialogue between opposites as a dominant value in contemporary society and the exhibition invites reflection on its implications. Through image textures that evoke painterly brushstrokes and the use of veils, the artist focuses on that which is obscured, on the limits of visibility and what remains out of focus.

The exhibition brings together a selection of works in which Malagrida utilizes principally photography and video. Her work, however, transcends these media to offer a visual experience open to multiple interpretations.

The project invites the spectator to take a fresh look at their surroundings, both urban and natural, and to discover in them the traces of social and economic shifts. Through her distinctive visual approach, the artist offers new forms of perception; she delves into fragility and vulnerability and questions the way we construct our gaze.

The exhibition, curated by Patrícia Sorroche, is full of poetic gestures that permeate the works of this Barcelona-based artist with a multiplicity of meanings.
