Felipe Romero Beltrán: Bravo - KBR Fundació MapfreBarcelona Art Season, Exhibitions
02/15/2025 - 05/18/2025

The exhibition Bravo by Felipe Romero Beltrán, organized by the KBR Fundació MAPFRE, presents a moving photographic study that deals with the reality of the border between the United States and Mexico. Through 52 images, the Colombian artist (Bogotá, 1992) explores the Rio Grande, a territory fraught with tension, where thousands of people from countries such as Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala arrive in search of a new life, facing the difficulties of a dangerous journey.

Romero immerses himself in the landscapes, architecture and portraits of the people who inhabit this frontier region. The river, which acts as a natural barrier, also conditions the identity and ways of life of the migrants, who are conditioned by waiting, hope and struggle. In his work, the artist captures moments of vulnerability and resilience, showing us both the harshness of the circumstances and the strength of the individuals who pass through this border area.

By means of portraits, walls, fences and textured surfaces, the exhibition presents a sober and poetic look at life on the border, highlighting the fragility and strength of those who live in hope. Bravo becomes a visual and human witness to border identity and geographical, social and emotional boundaries.
