Fundació Joan Miró presents Between two courtyards, an exhibition that celebrates the 45th anniversary of the spaces Espai 10 and 13 and acts as an introduction to the foundation's 50th anniversary celebrations. The exhibition reconstructs three exhibitions showcasing three prominent artists from the 1970s and 1980s: Fina Miralles (1979), Susana Solano (1980) and Eva Lootz (1986). These exhibitions were fundamental in the history of Espai 10, a space originally intended for experimentation and which at the time welcomed young artists seeking to develop innovative projects.

The title of the exhibition, Between Two Courtyards, refers to the original architectural configuration of Espai 10. This open-plan space, with windows on both sides, overlooked the so-called Patio del Olivo (Courtyard of the Olive Tree) and the Patio del Algarrobo (Courtyard of the Carob Tree), creating a unique environment that stimulated the connection between art and architecture. Today it houses the museum's gift shop.

The exhibition, curated by Martina Millà, head of exhibitions at Fundació Joan Miró, offers a look at the past to reflect on the evolution of contemporary art and the crucial role of women artists in the transformation of art spaces in Barcelona.
