The exhibition Solid that melts in the air by Toni Giró (Barcelona, 1966) brings together a selection of his works created over the last thirty years, creating a dialogue between pieces that transcend the chronological distance to offer a contemporary reflection on art and its meaning. The show is not a retrospective, but rather the project focuses on updating and contrasting the relationships between the works, exploring the multiplicity of meanings that emerge from them.

With a strong connection to expanded sculpture, Giró is interested in the image situated in space, activated by the three-dimensional devices he builds himself. His work critically traces historical dead-ends and crossroads of meaning, often from an ironic perspective, to point out the limitations and possible escape points of contemporary society.

The artist uses various media such as sculpture, installation, photography, video, and drawing to invite us to reflect on the fragility of meaning construction, highlighting the materiality and objecthood of the work. The exhibition also incorporates ideas from conceptual art, adapting them to the present day and offering new ways of viewing the limits of contemporary art.
