Cristina Iglesias - La PedreraBarcelona Art Season, Exhibitions
10/03/2025 - 01/25/2026
La Pedrera offers a unique opportunity to delve into the sensory and poetic universe of Basque artist Cristina Iglesias. Known for her ability to create immersive environments, the artist uses a sculptural language that fuses architecture, literature, psychology and geology, among other disciplines, transforming it into highly poetic material.
The exhibition presents a series of works ranging from suspended pavilions, labyrinths and corridors to murals infused with text, combining natural and fictional forms. Iglesias’s installations blur the boundaries between the organic and the artificial, the interior and the exterior, and become an invitation to explore space through the memory of landscape and the subterranean. For this exhibition, Iglesias has designed a proposal that establishes an architectural-sculptural dialogue, connecting the organic nature of the natural world with the strict geometry of architecture, something very present in Gaudí’s work. The exhibition route follows a pattern of movement through the fluid spaces of the modernist architect’s design, creating a dynamic interaction between the physical attributes of the artwork and the viewer’s observation. Additionally, some of her large-scale installations, such as Rooms and Passages, will be on display along with a selection of two-dimensional works.
