Tibidabo’s Automata Museum

The Tibidabo Amusement Park, located in the Serra de Collserola, is a century-old funfair that opened its doors in 1901 with more than 25 rides and attractions, entertainments, costumed characters and performers, restaurants, picnic areas and the finest panoramic views of the city.

One of the most beautiful and highly prized attractions in the park is the amazing Museu d’Autòmats. It houses a wonderful collection of early-20th-century automata and coin-operated figures. When people see these unique figures in motion they have a lot of fun.

The story goes that when Walt Disney visited the park, he was so taken with an automaton that he wrote a blank cheque to make sure the park owners woul sell it to him. But he didn’t get his wish.
