Barcelona Creative District trail
The neighbourhood of Poblenou in the borough of Sant Martí, combines tradition and modernity. The state-of the-art buildings in the 22@ innovation quarter and the urban transformations that have taken place since the 1992 Olympic Games converge with former industrial buildings, transforming it into Barcelona's creative district, on a par with other places around the world, like Hackney in London, Wrangelkiez in Berlin, Williamsburg in New York and Wynwood in Miami.
Poblenou is a neighbourhood that has preserved its history and industrial architecture. Its 19th-century chimneys are a symbol that connects the past and present and reminds us of the origins of our city.
The private, not-for-profit association, Poblenou Urban District, is made up of professionals, enterprises and organisations from Poblenou's creative and cultural sectors. Its main aim is to give impetus to and raise awareness of these communities and establish the neighbourhood as Barcelona's creative and cultural district.
If you want to discover and surround yourself with creative talent and an enterprising spirit, we recommend you visit some of Poblenou's most iconic sites to discover its cultural, creative and artistic offer together with its industrial past.
