    Manifesta 15 Europe's Nomadic Biennial

    As its name suggests, the European Nomadic Biennial Manifesta 15 takes place every two years, and the city chosen for its 15th edition is Barcelona. All kinds of activities designed to rethink the relationship between culture and civil society will be held in Barcelona over nearly three months. Through innovative dynamics and public debates, the event will reflect on issues such as the challenges of globalization, the democratization of public life, the defense of public space against privatization, the need to balance social progress with environmental challenges, housing fragility, movements of people, capital and data, and economic and ecological crises.

    For this edition in Barcelona, spaces such as Les Tres Xemeneies and Casa Gomis will be open to the general public. The event will revolve around 3 thematic clusters: Balancing conflicts, Caring and taking care of ourselves and Imagining futures.

Now we can explore it through the voices of indigenous peoples in the fields of art, thought, science and activism. The exhibition Amazonia. The ancestral future takes us into its territory, its cities and its indigenous communities to understand other lifestyles and ways of relating to nature. With its vast and diverse expanse spanning nine states and the original habitat of 400 indigenous peoples, the Amazon region is the largest tropical ecosystem in the world. In this exhibition we use our senses to tour it from end to end, through its rivers and forests, sounds, smells and cities, as well as rituals, people and ancestral communities. The exhibition also addresses the multiple conflicts facing this natural lung from the perspective of scientists and researchers. This visit offers us a unique opportunity to re-think what we are as a society and understand the urgent need to reclaim lifestyles that are more environmentally responsible.
