Mercat de la Barceloneta

This is the city's seafood market par excellence. Originally built in 1887, it was subsequently refurbished by the architect Josep Miàs, who won the City of Barcelona award for his project. The refit was completed in 2007 and respected the original structure while transforming the interior into a functional and modern space and adding solar panels. You'll find fine-dining restaurants, tapas bars and the freshest produce.
