Urban art trail: murals
Enjoy a wander through Barcelona's urban landscape and discover some of the most ground-breaking artistic styles of recent decades.
A fun and original way to get to know the city through the different techniques and styles of artists who are bursting with creativity. From the colourful Joan Miró, who draws our attention to the ground, and Joan Fontcuberta's sensual kiss, to Frederic Amat's gravity-defying, higgledy-piggledy forest of broken pots, and graffito artist Roc Blackblock's tribute to the countryside and the farming community.
Techniques including painting, ceramics, graffiti and terrazzo mosaics have been used in the murals around the city to draw attention to feminism, raise awareness about AIDS and the importance of historical memory. You'll find vibrant and colourful murals and street art on the walls and on the ground across the city, from the old town to the most modern neighbourhoods.
We invite you to experience the city in a unique, innovative way by engaging in a dialogue with street art in the open air, which will bring the walls and ground in Barcelona to life.
